My Family’s Week In Cairns
Here’s a daily retelling of my family’s recent vacation in Cairns Australia.
Monday
For the first day of our family adventure we thought we would get the blood rushing by going white water rafting on the Tully River. It’s a long day trip, they collected us from our resort at 7.00am and we didn’t return until about 7.30pm. You are in 6 man rafts for the day. Amazingly, for North Queensland the watertemp is quite cold, but you soon forget cialis doses about the water temp as you come to the first rapid. What a adrenaline ride! The river tries to send the raft everywhere. Don’t fear though, the guides are all fully trained and qualified.
Tuesday
Today we thought we might have a bit of a lay day. So the tribe went off in different directions.
Wednesday
On Wednesday we finally got to go to the Cairns Great Barrier Reef. We went out with Sunlover Cruises. They have a artificial island permanently anchored at the outer reef. The snorkelling was amazing with literally hundreds of fish of all colours surrounding you. The coral was amazing and was so close you could almost touch it.
Wednesday night we went out for dinner and a few beers and watched some Cane Toad races. They are ugly warty creatures.
Thursday
Today we went to Kuranda. It is a quiet little village in the rainforest behind Cairns. You can get a coach there, but we went on the Kuranda Skyrail. The Skyrail took about an hour with 2 stops on the route. Kuranda’s a nice town but a little too tacky for my liking. Every second shop is selling Tshirts and the ones next door are selling Aboriginal Art. A must see is the Kuranda buy Hip & Joint Support Dogs online Village Markets, with more boomerangs for sale as well as lots of local homemade knick knacks, as well as more boomerangs. We came home by the Kuranda Train with more stunning views.
Friday
Today was another day off of sorts. We took the chance to visit the lagoon. For a place with crocodiles and deadly jellyfish, this place is an excellent idea.
That night we a little basic and the singer was top quality. Returning by 9.20pm, it wasn’t too bad.
Saturday
Today we cruised to the reef again. This time we went with Ocean Quest on a scuba diving cruise. cialis without prescription Although we only went snorkelling, as none of us are certified scuba divers. The reef was even better than on Wednesday. The absence or crowds makes it a better day than on the big boat trips.
Sunday
Today we went to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest . The Daintree is the worlds oldest rainforest, and it’s quite spectacular. They say it’s “where the rainforest meets the reef” and thats about it. The rainforest runs right down to the palm fringed beaches.
